"Opening Day" Line Up

Actual baseball games start today in Surprise, as the Royals take on the Texas Rangers. Hillman's starting lineup is listed below.

It looks like the team is wasting no time in getting Teahen some reps at second base. I guess the best case scenario is that he gets four or five balls hit his way, handles them well, and is immediately traded to a team like the Cubs who still want to find a lefty bat for their lineup.

The next best thing would be for Wee Willie Bloomquist to get lost at the Home Depot, so that Alberto Callaspo or some other player who can actually hit gets the nod at second base when Guillen's toe is healed.

The revised lineup to face right-hander Kris Benson:

CF Coco Crisp, SS Mike Aviles, LF David DeJesus, DH Mike Jacobs, 1B Billy Butler, DH Mike Jacobs, 3B Alex Gordon, 2B Mark Teahen, C Miguel Olivo and RF Willie Bloomquist.

The only notable absence is Guillen.
