Royals Terrible Year is Finally Over

I love Spring Training for story leads like this one. The lead calls out the fact that the team hasn't beaten the Rangers -- in spring training games, ahem -- since, well... last spring.

No words in the recap about Teahen stinking it up at second base, though I saw in the box score that he played there again. I think the best hope for him now is that he tears it up on the Canadian team in the World Baseball Classic.

Ross Gload hit a triple, which means he's as fast as Mark Teahen and deserves to play first base over slow pokes like Billy Butler and Mike Jacobs.

SURPRISE, Ariz. | The Royals finally proved they can beat Texas Rangers in rolling to a 7-2 victory Thursday at Surprise Stadium. It marked their first spring victory over their campus neighbors since March 29, 2007.
